This cooling refresher will give you a wellspring of natural energy to start your day and replenish your body’s hydration after a hot and sweaty workout:
Matcha green tea smoothie
1 frozen banana
1 c. plain greek yogurt
2 c. honeydew melon pieces (or seeded cucumber)
1/2 c. real maple syrup
1 t. vanilla
2 t. matcha green tea powder (I used Seven Elegance)
2 t. spirulina powder (or a good herbal power-nutrients green and cacoa powder)
1/2 c. crushed ice
Blend in a blender until smooth and creamy. If necessary, stop the blender and shake the pitcher until the ingredients mix thoroughly. Feel free to add a scoop of protein powder or after-workout supplement powder, and if it is not sweet enough, add more maple syrup. The taste will depend on the sweetness of your fruits and the bitterness of your green powders, so some adjustment may be necessary to make it perfect!! Enjoy!
